Do Something Expansion Campaign

Where Are We Now?
FCC’s campus expansion project has been estimated at a total cost of $2,000,000. We needed $250,000 to begin Phase One, which includes putting a new roof on the existing main building, and adding a porte-cochere to help our elderly, handicapped, and families with small children to load/unload from their vehicles in inclement weather. Phase One also includes adding a new office entrance for our future office space. We currently have received donations totaling $548,246.96 and are working toward beginning construction on Phase One.
Our engineers almost have the bid packages completed. Phase One will be bid in three separate bid packages – – the roof, the Porte-cochere, and the site work. The roofing material that is being proposed will be a GAF long-life, 50 year shingle. This will not only save money on the materials and labor but will allow us to keep the current gutter and facia. We have decided to scale back on the Porte-cochere and only have one lane of traffic and to use a truss system rather than the park timbers. The more conventional approach will save money. Some of the beams and post can be wrapped in cedar to maintain the desired appearance. The underside will have a T and G wooden ceiling. This should look very nice. The site work on the west end parking remodel is 95 percent complete. We are really close to finding out the price for all of Phase One. The planning sometimes takes longer than the construction but the planning is so critical to the integrity of the project!
Continue to pray for the project as it moves forward.
